Kevin Pahud will cover the electrification potential in Switzerland’s industrial sector as a key route in achieving net-zero emissions. It reveals that while the industry holds significant potential for electrification, its competitiveness is subject to specific conditions. Given the technological & economic maturity of certain technologies, electrification is competitive in low temperature industrial sectors. A major highlight of the talk will be the emergence of industrial heat pumps as a cornerstone technology in the electrification process, which are already competitive against fossil alternatives today.
