2nd Conference on Energy and Sustainability Law at ZHAW-IRW in Winterthur on the 30 August 2024

The theme will be «Grenzen der Regulierung im Energierecht» (Limitations to regulation in energy law).

ZHAW-IRW is organizing its 2nd Conference on Energy and Sustainability Law in the afternoon of 30 August 2024 in Winterthur. The theme will be «Grenzen der Regulierung im Energierecht» (Limitations to regulation in energy law). It will be examined under legal, political, technical and economic aspects.

  • Dr Martin Neukom, member of the cantonal government of Zurich, will represent the political perspective and give a presentation on the topic of "Claims, politics and regulation. Or: Why everything is so complicated".
  • Dr Georg Schwarz will take a critical look at the technical and economic limits of regulation.

The legal perspective will be addressed by:

  • Dr Reto Müller (Regulation in energy law),
  • Dr Renata Trajkova (Limits of private regulation on the example of energy-efficient building refurbishment), and
  • Dr Lukas Schaub (State incentive regulation and its limits using the example of energy communities).

After the presentations, there will be a panel discussion, where, amongst other topics the next phase after the vote on the blanket decree will be discussed. The conference will conclude with an aperitif riche.

The participation is free for members of the SWEET-DeCarbCH-consortium.
